And We put forth (many) parables for you.

And We presented for you many examples.

We also showed you examples.

And We helped you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in man power.

And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower

This is a decree already ordained. We, then, gave you a chance to defeat your enemies with the help of increasing your wealth and offspring.

For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

Then We gave you a chance against them, and strengthened you with wealth and children, and increased your numbers (and said)

We then reversed your attack upon them, and aided you with wealth and sons and increased your numbers.

Then We gave back to you the turn to prevail over them, and We succoured you with wealth and children, and We made you a greater host.

Thereafter We gave you a return of victory over them, and We supported you with riches and children, and We made you a numerous concourse.

Then We gave you back your turn against them, and supplied you with wealth and children, and made you more numerous.

Then We granted you an upper hand against them, and strengthened you with wealth and children, and multiplied your numbers.

Then we gave you once again your turn against them, and We aided you with wealth and children and made you more in soldiery.

Then We gave you back the turn to prevail over them, and We aided you with children and wealth, and made you greater in number,

Then, We gave the turn back to you to prevail over them, and We helped you with wealth and children, and made you the greater host.

Then We gave you back the turn to prevail against them, and aided you with wealth and children and made you a numerous band.

and after a time We allowed you to prevail over them once again and aided you with wealth and offspring and made you greater in number.

Then did We grant you the Return as against them We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man power.

Yet you dwelt in the dwellings of those who had exceeded themselves, and it was evident to you how We had dealt with them and We held out examples before you.

And you dwelt in the houses of those who had wronged themselves and it became very clear to you how We had dealt with them, and We illustrated several examples for you.

And you dwelt in the dwelling places of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We did with them, and how We struck similitudes for you.

And ye dwell in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves and it had become manifest unto you in what wise We had dealt with them, and We had propounded for you similitudes.

And you inhabited the homes of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We dealt with them, and We cited for you the examples.

You said so even though you had lived in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves (by sinning), and you were aware how We dealt with them, and We had even explained to you all this by giving examples.

And (have ye not) dwelt in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves (of old) and (hath it not) become plain to you how We dealt with them and made examples for you?

while you dwelt in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves before , and it had been made clear to you how We had dealt with them before you , and We had also cited examples for you?

You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We dealt with them, and how We struck parables for you.

And you dwell in the abodes of those who were unjust to themselves, and it is clear to you how We dealt with them and We have made (them) examples to you.

You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it was made clear to you how We had dealt with them and We gave you many examples.

And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them and We put forth (many) parables in your behoof!

Did We not give you a long enough span of life so that he who remembered may reflect?

'What, did We not give you long life, enough to remember in for him who would remember?

(Allah will reply) Did We not give you lives long enough, so that whosoever would receive admonition, could receive it?

Did We not give you a life long enough, in which anyone who wanted to understand would have understood?

(They will be told) Did we not grant you an age long enough for anyone to take heed if he had wanted to take heed?

Did not We grant you a life long enough for him who reflected to reflect therein?

Did We not give you a lifelong enough that one who is heedful might take admonition?

They will be told, Did We not allow you to live long enough for you to seek guidance?

But He will answer, Did We not make your life long enough to take warning if you were going to?

We gave them food.

We gave our word.

We gave him up for dead.

We took it for granted.
